Another talented group of students was featured this week when they competed in the Poetry Out Loud competition. Ten students vied for the two top spots in the poetry recitation. Runner up is Whitney Ciongoli and this year’s winner is Rachel Breslin. These aspiring poets will now attend the Region One Finding Your Voice Workshop and then advance to the Region One Regional Contest. The winner of the Regional will advance to the state finals in Montgomery. Good luck, girls.
FHS seniors had a field trip this week. Twelfth-graders went to Faulkner State Community College this past Thursday as they gathered information on universities across the United States.
Congratulations to Chase Domino who was recognized with the Red Ribbon Week Leadership Award. Students wore black on Wednesday to support the theme of "Black Out Drugs." Peer Helpers also got involved with Red Ribbon Week. They visited Fairhope Middle School to speak to the eighth-graders about making healthy choices.
