The Micmac Indians of Eastern Canada was first published in 1955. Minnesota Archive Editions uses digital technology to make long-unavailable books once again accessible, and are published unaltered from the original University of Minnesota Press editions. The culture of an Indian tribe over a period of 300 years is described in this comprehensive ethnographic study by a husband and wife anthropologist team. The earliest accounts of the Micmac Indians were written by seventeenth-century French explorers and missionaries. These give historical perspective to the work done by the Wallises, whose research is based on field trips that bridged a 40-years span. Dr. Wallis first observed the Micmac tribes in 1911–12. Awareness Ribbon Machine Embroidery « Marjorie's quilting bee
I have been on a machine embroidery digitizing marathon for the past few days. The major goal was to finish a set of applique Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbons as a giveaway to those who would like to use them with the Awareness Ribbon die to commemorate October as Breast Cancer Awareness month.
There are ten separate designs in multiple formats. If you would like to have this embroidery set, please send a request to busbyquilts at gmail dot com, and I will send you a zip file with the designs.
These photos show three of the designs. Just think what fun projects you can make with these. Not only are they nice for quilts, but also for embellishing tote bags, mug rugs, and t-shirts.

I support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I am team captain again this year for the Light the Night Walk. I always walk in memory of my Aunt/Godmother, Angela Lorence. Leukemia took her life when I was very young and it's sad for me to say that i only have a few memories of her. There have been many improvements since then, but more research is still necessary!
