Sometimes we just don’t have the time to carve up a bunch of pumpkins but you can have a treasure trove of Halloween fun with the kids by using lots of different ideas outside of carving. The best part is that you are able to do it all in one evening. I know because I just did this with my daughter and granddaughters.
A little pre-planning helps pumpkin decoration party be a great success. The first step is to buy a bunch of pumpkins of all sizes and shapes. Some pumpkins can stand on their own as you will find those with gnarly lumps and bumps, different coloring like those with white, green and orange, all white ones as well as multi-colored ones outside the traditional orange.
Next is a trip to your favorite craft store and here are some ideas as to what you will need for those pumpkins you will see in the pictures provided with this article: a can of black glossy spray paint and white flat spray paint, five sheets of felt, a fabric glue to stick the felt pieces onto the pumpkins (ask at the store which one is best), some glitter paint or liquid glitter, a glow in the dark paint, black bric-a-brac and Halloween ribbons. Of course, string and plastic spiders, strings of white lights, creature cut outs and other ideas may be in order. You can buy enough for 10 pumpkins or just one.
