Anaheim Ducks hold Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Night tonight
ANAHEIM - The Anaheim Ducks will conduct Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Night at tonight's game against the Dallas Stars at Honda Center.
Duck players will wear Hockey Fights Cancer lavender decals on their helmets, and their sticks will be wrapped in lavender hockey tape. Coaches, broadcasters, management and team staff will wear official lavender Hockey Fights Cancer ties and lavender ribbons.
The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a Hockey Fights Cancer lavender ribbon.
Lavender, which represents awareness for all cancers, is the designated color for the project, now in its 14th year.
An in-game silent auction of Ducks autographed merchandise will be held on the concourse, near Section 213, with all proceeds donated to the Orange County/Inland Empire chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Cancer Awareness Month- Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Cancer
September month is also the cancer awareness month. It focuses on prostrate and gynecology or ovarian cancer. Volunteers and organizations promoting cancer awareness use blue, teal and red colored ribbons for different types of cancers. The most common cancer seems to be Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The same disease killed the young actor Andy Whitfield. Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma affects the nodes, organs and ducts of the lymphatic system of human body.

Cancer of any kind can strike any age group. At times, undiagnosed tumors can also lead to cancers. The non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is nothing different. It can occur in kids, adults and any age group. Usually, lymphoma cancer seems to be the common childhood disease. The symptoms of this cancer include excess weight loss, high fever and chills along with enlargement of lymphatic nodes. It can be genetic or caused due to environment factors. The real cause of this cancer is still unknown.
