Junior Women’s Club enjoys successful fundraiser
Editor, The Times:
On Monday, Oct. 10, The Junior Women’s Club of Cedar Grove and Bellatair Salon co-hosted our First Annual "Shades of Pink" Fund Raiser to benefit Pink Hair for Hope. Pink Hair For Hope is a nationwide campaign by "SHE by SO.CAP.USA Hair Extensions" that raises funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation of the American Cancer Society (ACS). The "SHE by SO.CAP.USA Hair Extensions" main goal is to bring together people being affected by breast cancer and those that support them. More than 120 women and girls attended this successful event. If you did not get a chance to get your Pink Hair Extension, stop by Bellatair Salon. They will be still selling them and donating the proceeds this whole entire month.
On behalf of the Juniors, we would like to extend a very special thank you to Bellatair Salon and Alyssa Johnson, who coordinated the event with the Juniors. She and several other stylists at Bellatair Salon made this fund raiser a huge success by donating their time and tips.

Every year when October rolls around, the world seems to turn pink. This is because October is breast cancer awareness month. Pink has been associated with breast cancer as its advocacy color for many years now, and the organization behind it is Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Susan G Komen is the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. Every year they organize events to promote cancer research, and raise funds to help the researchers find a cure. One of the largest events happens every October all over the United States. Race for the Cure is a huge event that promotes awareness and raises money for breast cancer research.
