When planning a graduation party, when would be the best time to plan it for because i know a lot of people schedule theirs on at least the first weekend. better yet, what few weekends would be the worst after graduation?

I had my informal high school graduation party a week before the graduation ceremony; everyone was still around and it made things easier to co-ordinate, since everyone else was trying to hold a party after the ceremony.

Graduation: County scores above statewide average on graduation rates
Santa Cruz County school districts beat the statewide average in graduate and dropout rates released by the state Thursday, a statistic drawing some satisfaction from county education leaders, along with a pledge to do better.
"Keeping kids in our high school and our district is a real commitment for us," said San Lorenzo Valley Assistant Superintendent Laurie Marcellin, speaking of a dropout rate of 2 percent. "Even if it's one or two kids, those are kids we want to do better by."
The district has a 91.4 percent graduation rate, she said. The rate includes San Lorenzo Valley High and three charter and other types of schools.
Santa Cruz City Schools has a graduation rate of 92.2 percent, which includes Santa Cruz, Harbor and Soquel high schools as well as four less traditional schools. The rate does not include Pacific Collegiate School, which has a 96.9 percent graduation rate.
Scotts Valley's 96.1 percent rate is for Scotts Valley High School alone, while Pajaro Valley's 80.5 rate includes Watsonville and Pajaro Valley high schools and four less traditional schools.
